TGIF...again

Today is now my Friday, so, I'm out of here in a few hours. A little sleepy today, because we ended up seeing a movie after 11 last night, but it was well worth it. FINALLY had the honor of meeting Ms. Sula (yay!), and she, Leonce, and I saw "Mr. Brooks" after dinner at Wings and More (and there's alot more on their menu, lol).

The movie was great!!! It's an suspense thriller starring Kevin Costner, Demi Moore, and Dane Cook. Don't want to start talking about it, in lieu of giving away too much, but I'll just note that the main character leads a double life.

4 o'clock is not getting here fast enough...I'm ready to go!

No Means No

How many times does a person have to be told "no" before they understand? I lost 30 minutes of my day repeatedly telling this lady that:
  • no, we would not be able to get someone out to connect her internet today or tomorrow
  • no, we do not have a emergency process for internet installation
  • no, you cannot pay extra to get somebody out there before your rescheduled appointment on Sunday
  • no, I cannot talk to my manager to find out what she suggests (she's not even here today)

I know, I work in customer service, therefore my job is to serve the customer, and I do, to the best of my ability. However, that whole thing about "the customer is always right" is BS...just like everything in life, you can't always get what you want.

Back to Work...

My mini vacation was wonderful. We had a great time in San Antonio on the Riverwalk and at Sea World. I'm still sore from all that walking, lol. I managed to avoid the "Splash Zones" at all 3 shows we attended, but she did me soaked on the water ride. Not to mention, it rained off and on most of Saturday. Yesterday, I spent the day with my loved ones, bbq'ed, and ate way too much. But, today, the fun has ended, and its back to the J.O.B. for the next 4.5 days (I get off early on Saturday). So, now I'm just watching the clock...

The LOONNG Weekend!!!

After I escape this place at 6pm today, I don't have to come back until next Tuesday morning at 9am!!! Therefore, I'm starting early, and doing the bare minimum today, lol.

My Bad...

I didn't realize it had been almost 2 weeks since I posted anything. Work's been beyond hectic lately, but I decided yesterday that I was going to stop trying to do the jobs of 2 or 3 people. I get 1 check, so I do enough work for 1 person.

Nothing exciting to tell about this place...its the same thing 8+ hours a day...
  • folks complaining about little insignificant stuff (The tech didn't have his own ladder, so I think my installation should be free.
  • folks trying to get something for nothing (Since my family wasn't able to enjoy some quality time and watch TV for 3 hours last night, I want a free month of service)
  • folks with "not so smart" questions, since supposedly, there's no such thing as a stupid question (How can I lower my bill without removing any of my services?)

All the craziness does stress me out, has me wanting to go by folks houses and stuff, but I'm trying to do better, lol.

Other than this, life's pretty good. My little one completes the 4th grade tomorrow (I'm getting old, lol), so we're off to San Antonio for the weekend. We'll be hitting up the Riverwalk, Sea World, and maybe the Alamo. After I drop her off at my mom's on Sunday, I am child free for the summer! Wonder what kinds of mischief I can get into while she's gone?

TGI (my) F!!!!!!!

I know its Thursday, but its my Friday, and I'm so glad!!! So far (knock on wood), this has been the best day of the week since Sunday (when we were hella slow, lol). I'm caught up on everything, so now I have to find something to do...

~I must share with you an example of some of the things I get everyday (the name has been omitted to protect..well, whatever)...

Subject: Bad Service
Dear Sir/Madam,

I ordered new service last week and your company scheduled to come my home to install service between 5 and 8 PM today (5/9/2007). I took 3 hours off to back to wait for your company's technicial to come my home to install a cable because I am working at Downtown Houston. I lost my patient to call in at 1888-xxx-xxxx when I waited waited waited until around 7:30PM. Somebody of your company told me the technicial was on the way. but I still did not see anybody to come my home to install around 8:00pm. I called in again,somebody told me the technicial ran in a little bit late. I lost a patient again when waited another 40 minutes. I called in again, somebody told me technicial ran in late, but technicial will be my home soon. I am waiting waiting, but no body show up. A service representive called me to tell the technicail ran in really late round 8:55pm and try to reschedule to install cable for me next week. I insist to want techinicail to come tonight beacuse I don't want to take another day off, the representive told me the techenicial will come to my home, but nobody showed up at all. I really want to know how does your company do business like this. You fooled your customers and cheated customers. I need to know waht's going on. Please give me a call at following ph #...

One of my co-workers replied (miraculously), and this what I got back this morning...

Thank you very much for your email, I hope everything is going well and don't need to take half day off($50/hr). Also, I don't need wait 7 hours to midnight.

I Ain't a Killer, But Don't Push Me...

I can honestly say, I'm about 2 seconds from going postal!!!

The last few days at my job have been a hot mess, to say the least. The email server locked up on Friday, and wasn't fixed until Monday. Therefore, we had 3 1/2 days of emails to answer, plus the current customers bombarding us in Chat. Needless to say, I didn't get off work til 9pm on Monday (I'm scheduled to go at 6pm).

Yesterday, we were a person short, then another was in training, so that backed us up as well. Luckily, we did get the emails caught up around 1pm yesterday.

Today has just been shitty poo-poo! The 1st person I had at 9am, was griping about a name change to a section of programming, and had to audacity to say I was lying to him, although he wasn't even in front of the TV at the moment! I've also come very close to cussing out several folks today, because they all come into my Chat with attitude.

It is finally my lunch time, so I'm going home (this doesn't happen often, I usually stay here) for a bit and try to unwind. I may be back with more later :D


~~~Ok, back from lunch...I'm in a much better mood now. Hopefully, I can maintain it for the next 3 1/2 hours, lol.

~~~Nevermind, the good mood was gone within 20 minutes. Just more of the same crap from this morning...folks asking dumb questions ("why do I have to upgrade my service to get the channels I want to see?"), not reading the answers I provide ("for the 5th time, you will have to call in to cancel your service"), or just coming at me with craziness ("what is HSI Equipment for $3.00 on the bill and what is Wirless network monthly for $14.95 and what is Addt'l digital converter for $7.00? Are they for the cable t.v. or are they required for the Road Runner High Speed internet? texas, houston"...all I did was type hello, introduce myself, and ask for the phone number o_O ).

I'm currently watching the clock...I've got 39 minutes til I'm out this piece, and its not getting here fast enough. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day :)
